What's Happening?
The United Heroes League (UHL) has been named the 2026 NHL Stick Tap for Service winner. Founded by Shane Hudella, a retired Army first sergeant, the nonprofit organization supports children of military service members by providing free sports equipment,
skill-development camps, and cash grants. The UHL was established after Hudella was inspired by a conversation with NHL players Brent Burns and Derek Boogard in 2008. The organization aims to lower barriers for military families to participate in youth sports, particularly hockey. The UHL will be featured across various media platforms, including Navy Federal and NHL social media channels, as well as ESPN and TNT broadcasts.
