What's Happening?
Brightstar Resources has appointed GR Engineering Services as the preferred contractor for the engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) of the Goldfields Processing Plant near Laverton. This decision follows a competitive front-end engineering design completed in December. The plant, with a capacity of 1.5 million tonnes per annum, is contingent on a final investment decision and contract execution. An early works agreement has been signed to facilitate the ordering of long-lead items and continued engineering efforts.
Why It's Important?
The development of the Goldfields Processing Plant is a significant step for Brightstar Resources in its goal to become a major gold producer in Western Australia. The project is expected to enhance the company's production
capacity and financial performance. The engagement of GR Engineering, known for its expertise in similar projects, is likely to ensure efficient project execution and risk mitigation. The plant's construction will also contribute to local economic growth and job creation.
What's Next?
Brightstar aims to make the final investment decision by late March 2026, with construction expected to start soon after. The company is also progressing with debt financing processes, expected to complete in March 2026. Upon receiving necessary approvals and finalizing financing, Brightstar will declare a formal investment decision, paving the way for construction to commence.
