What's Happening?
Müller UK & Ireland has opened applications for its 2026 apprenticeship program, coinciding with National Apprenticeship Week. The program offers pathways in engineering and manufacturing, aiming to address
skills shortages in the food processing and manufacturing sectors. The Level 3 Engineering Apprenticeship is a four-year program that immerses apprentices in the maintenance and improvement of manufacturing machinery. The Manufacturing Academy apprenticeship provides a two-year route into production roles, focusing on food safety and operational efficiency. Both programs combine hands-on experience with academic learning, supported by mentors and industry partners.
Why It's Important?
Müller's apprenticeship program is crucial for developing a skilled workforce in the manufacturing industry, particularly in the food sector. By investing in training and education, Müller aims to nurture talent from within and create a pipeline of skilled professionals. This initiative could help mitigate the impact of skills shortages, enhance productivity, and support the long-term growth of the manufacturing sector. The program also offers career development opportunities for apprentices, potentially leading to higher retention rates and a more stable workforce.
