Jacob Siwicki, a fitness expert and founder of Siwicki Fitness, has shared a series of daily exercises aimed at reducing 'muffin top' fat, particularly for individuals over 60. Siwicki emphasizes that traditional crunches are less effective for targeting
the obliques and transverse abdominis, which are crucial for shaping the waistline. Instead, he recommends exercises such as the side plank with hip lift, standing oblique crunch with a single dumbbell, bird dog, Pallof press, and glute bridge march. These exercises are designed to be performed daily, taking only 12 minutes, and are low-impact to ensure safety for older adults. Siwicki highlights the importance of consistency over intensity in achieving results, noting that these exercises avoid heavy spinal flexion, which can be detrimental to posture and spinal health in older adults.
