Ireland-UK producer Mike Downey and Istanbul-based Emir Külal Haznevi have launched Saudade Ink, a boutique film financing outfit aimed at developing, producing, and investing in arthouse cinema globally. The fund, supported by private investors from
Turkey and the Middle East, plans to allocate up to €2 million annually over its first two years, with individual project investments ranging from €150,000 to €200,000. Downey and Haznevi aim to support five to eight productions per year, focusing on international auteur directors. The duo will be present at the Cannes Film Festival to scout for potential investments and are already executive producers for Cannes contenders 'Parallel Tales' by Asghar Farhadi and 'All of a Sudden' by Ryusuke Hamaguchi.
