What's Happening?
Pilbara Gold, listed on the Australian Securities Exchange as PGL, has secured the necessary heritage approvals to commence a significant drilling program at its Roe Hills Gold Project, located near Kalgoorlie. The approvals were granted following Aboriginal
heritage surveys conducted over the Terra and Caliburn prospects, with the Ngadju Native Title Aboriginal Corporation giving the green light for drilling activities. The company plans to undertake up to 12,000 meters of resource drilling, targeting mineralization continuity along a 2-kilometer strike at Terra and approximately 1 kilometer at Caliburn. The drilling program, which includes up to 57 holes, aims to extend known mineralization zones and is expected to be completed within two months. Pilbara Gold is targeting a maiden mineral resource estimate for Roe Hills by late 2026 or early 2027.
Why It's Important?
The approval for Pilbara Gold to proceed with its drilling program at Roe Hills is a significant step in the company's exploration efforts, potentially leading to the discovery of substantial gold resources. This development is crucial for the company as it seeks to establish a maiden mineral resource estimate, which could enhance its market position and attract further investment. The project is strategically located near existing gold operations, which could facilitate future development and production. Successful exploration and resource estimation could have broader economic implications, potentially contributing to the local economy through job creation and increased activity in the mining sector.
What's Next?
With the heritage approvals in place, Pilbara Gold is set to mobilize earthmoving equipment to facilitate drill access in the coming weeks. The company plans to complete the drilling operations within two months, followed by the wireframing of geological and mineralized domains. This will pave the way for the maiden mineral resource estimate, anticipated by the end of 2026 or early 2027. The results of this drilling program could influence future exploration strategies and investment decisions, both for Pilbara Gold and other stakeholders in the region.
