What's Happening?
After the 2025 season, approximately 50 players left the West Virginia football program and entered the transfer portal. While most have found new teams, a few remain without a new home as the 2026 season approaches. Among those still searching are running
back Kannon Katzer, EDGE player Keenan Eck, and cornerback BJ Hendrickson III. Katzer, a former Division II national champion, struggled with injuries and competition, limiting his playtime. Eck, considered a developmental player, primarily served on the scout team. Hendrickson joined the team late and focused on development, having no prior college football experience.
