What's Happening?
The Aquila Center for Cruise Excellence, the official training partner of the Florida-Caribbean Cruise Association (FCCA), has announced the launch of its 2026 Training Wave Season. This initiative, now in its third year, aims to enhance the competitive
edge of FCCA members in the evolving cruise industry. The program offers a series of three interactive, one-hour webinars, focusing on the 'triple bottom line' framework: People, Planet, and Profit. These sessions are designed to provide practical insights from the cruise industry, helping participants to maximize opportunities. The webinars are scheduled for three consecutive Wednesdays in May 2026, covering topics such as diversity and inclusion, environmental sustainability, and revenue optimization. Participants who complete all sessions will receive a certificate of completion from Aquila.
Why It's Important?
This training initiative is significant as it addresses key challenges and opportunities within the cruise industry, particularly in the context of increasing expectations for diversity, environmental sustainability, and profitability. By focusing on these areas, the program aims to equip FCCA members with the knowledge and strategies needed to enhance guest satisfaction and business performance. The emphasis on practical, real-world applications ensures that participants can directly apply what they learn to improve their operations. This could lead to more sustainable and profitable cruise destinations, benefiting not only the cruise lines but also local economies and communities involved in the industry.
What's Next?
Participants in the 2026 Training Wave Season can expect to gain actionable insights that they can implement in their operations. The focus on diversity, environmental strategies, and revenue optimization suggests that cruise destinations and operators will be better prepared to meet future challenges and capitalize on new opportunities. As the cruise industry continues to evolve, stakeholders may need to adapt their strategies to align with global standards and consumer expectations. The completion of the webinar series and the receipt of a certificate may also enhance the professional development of participants, potentially leading to further collaboration and innovation within the industry.
