What's Happening?
The Homegrown Stories Project, initiated by Harrison ninth graders Brynlee King and Ty Willmott, aims to educate the next generation about local agriculture in Boone County. The project was born out of a lack of available information on local farmers,
prompting the students to create children's books that highlight the stories of these farmers. The initiative seeks to bridge the knowledge gap and foster a deeper understanding of where food comes from among young people.
Why It's Important?
This project is significant as it addresses the growing disconnect between consumers and the origins of their food.
