Luxasia, a beauty and luxury lifestyle brand distributor, has been redesigning job roles and equipping employees with new skills and technology since 2016. The company has digitized stocktaking and trained beauty advisors to use customer relationship management systems for better customer engagement. FotoHub, an imaging solutions company, is also embracing workforce transformation by redesigning job scopes and upskilling employees to adapt to new roles. Both companies are participating in the Structured Career Planning workshop under JSIT-R to align
employee aspirations with organizational goals, thereby enhancing employee retention and engagement.
Why It's Important?
The transformation efforts by Luxasia and FotoHub highlight the critical need for businesses to adapt to technological advancements and changing consumer habits. By reskilling and upskilling employees, these companies are not only improving operational efficiency but also ensuring long-term sustainability in a competitive market. This approach is particularly significant in the retail industry, which faces constant disruption from trends like artificial intelligence. The initiatives also demonstrate the importance of aligning employee development with business objectives, which can lead to higher employee satisfaction and retention. As industries evolve, such proactive workforce transformations are essential for maintaining relevance and achieving continued success.
What's Next?
Luxasia and FotoHub plan to continue their workforce transformation efforts by further integrating technology into their operations and expanding employee training programs. Luxasia is currently in the next stage of its transformation with JSIT-R, focusing on on-the-job training for beauty advisors to become internal champions of new technologies. FotoHub is streamlining business processes to empower employees with decision-making capabilities. These ongoing efforts are expected to enhance customer experiences and drive business growth.
