What's Happening?
Bad Bunny's track 'Me Porto Bonito,' featuring Chencho Corleone, has been released on the popular virtual reality game Beat Saber. This release comes shortly after Bad Bunny's Album of the Year win at the Grammy Awards and ahead of his performance at the NFL Super Bowl halftime show. The track is available on Quest and SteamVR platforms, following a series of recent 'shock drops' of other artists' tracks. However, it is not available on PlayStation VR and PS VR2, as Meta, the owner of Beat Saber, has ceased releasing new content on these platforms.
Why It's Important?
The inclusion of Bad Bunny's music in Beat Saber highlights the growing intersection of music and virtual reality gaming. This move not only capitalizes on Bad Bunny's recent Grammy success but also
enhances the game's appeal by featuring popular music tracks. It reflects a trend where artists and gaming platforms collaborate to reach wider audiences, offering fans new ways to engage with music. The decision to exclude PlayStation platforms indicates strategic choices by Meta, potentially influencing consumer preferences and platform competition in the VR gaming market.
