What's Happening?
Adrianna Reloba, a visual artist and small business owner, is featured in the St. Mary's Arts Council's Spotlight on the Arts. Reloba runs Freedom Palette, a mobile art workshop business focused on community building and eco-friendly art practices. She creates craft kits and conducts workshops that emphasize using garden-grown, foraged, or ethically sourced materials. Reloba's artistic journey began in her childhood, using art as a means of self-discovery and connection. Her work is inspired by nature and the diverse cultural backgrounds she encounters. Reloba has been living in St. Mary's County for five years, having moved from Los Angeles to be closer to her family. Her long-term goal is to establish a live-in gallery space with a community garden to support
her workshops and provide meals.
Why It's Important?
Reloba's work highlights the intersection of art, community, and sustainability. By focusing on eco-friendly practices and community engagement, she contributes to a growing movement that values environmental responsibility and social connection through art. Her efforts to create inclusive art spaces and workshops can inspire other artists and communities to adopt similar practices, fostering a culture of sustainability and collaboration. Additionally, her vision of a live-in gallery space with a community garden could serve as a model for integrating art, community, and environmental stewardship.
