Grecian Magnesite has announced the addition of a fully electric, battery-powered Aramine L440B loader to its underground operations at the Koutzi mine in Evia, Greece. This new equipment is expected to help the mine achieve its design capacity of approximately 50,000 tons per year of pre-concentrated magnesite. The L440B loader, which complements the existing L140B model, features a 4.8-ton loading capacity, a 224 kWh battery pack with a Quick Replacement System, and ergonomic upgrades to enhance operator efficiency. The loader is designed to operate with zero emissions, marking a significant step towards sustainable mining practices. The company plans to have the L440B operational by January 2026.
