What's Happening?
The SAI Platform has completed a global pilot phase for its Regenerating Together Programme, aimed at transitioning supply chains towards regenerative agriculture. The pilot involved over 35 initiatives across 25 countries, testing a four-step framework
designed to be adaptable to local conditions. Major agrifood businesses, including Nestlé and Wildfarmed, participated in the pilot, which validated the framework's ability to guide regenerative practices while allowing for local adaptation. The results are seen as a key milestone ahead of the programme's formal launch next year.
Why It's Important?
The successful pilot of the Regenerating Together Programme represents a significant step towards sustainable agriculture, offering a scalable model for companies to implement regenerative practices. This approach addresses the growing demand for sustainable food production and helps companies meet environmental goals. By providing a flexible framework, the programme supports diverse agricultural systems and encourages widespread adoption of regenerative methods, potentially transforming global food supply chains.
What's Next?
The SAI Platform plans to launch the next phase of the Regenerating Together Programme in June 2026, focusing on broader adoption and showcasing new tools and resources. The initiative aims to facilitate peer-to-peer learning and invite wider participation from food and beverage companies. The programme's success could lead to increased investment in regenerative agriculture and influence policy decisions related to sustainable farming practices.
