AT&T has launched a new AI feature called Wi-Fi Personalization, designed to optimize home Wi-Fi traffic based on user activities. This feature is automatically enabled for AT&T customers who subscribe
to both home fiber and mobile services, as well as those with All-Fi Pro plans. The AI system prioritizes internet traffic by learning the network's usage patterns, such as prioritizing video calls during the day and gaming at night. The feature operates at the application level, distinguishing between different types of internet use, like streaming on a TV or an iPad, and prioritizes them accordingly. Importantly, the AI processing occurs solely on the Wi-Fi gateway, ensuring that personal data does not leave the home, and AT&T does not monetize this data. The feature is available at no additional cost and can be managed through AT&T's Smart Home Manager app.
