By honoring figures like Fernández, the award promotes a message of unity and mutual respect. This recognition is especially poignant given the current political climate, where immigration policies have been a contentious issue. The award serves as a reminder of the positive impact of cultural exchange and the importance of celebrating shared heritage and values.
