What's Happening?
Evan Greenlees and Kasra Salehi, third-year Business Management students at the University of Worcester, have won a £5,000 investment for their start-up, Little Guardians. This initiative aims to help children learn to read while promoting sustainability
through storytelling. The funding was secured through a Dragon's Den-style competition, part of the BOSS scheme, which supports student entrepreneurship. Little Guardians plans to develop a series of 15 books for children aged two to six, sponsored by businesses and distributed free to schools.
Why It's Important?
The investment in Little Guardians highlights the growing emphasis on educational innovation and sustainability. By integrating storytelling with environmental themes, the initiative seeks to foster early literacy and environmental awareness among young children. This approach not only supports educational development but also aligns with broader societal goals of sustainability. The success of Greenlees and Salehi in securing funding underscores the importance of supporting student-led ventures that address critical issues and contribute to community development.
