What's Happening?
Accounting Today has announced an extension for the submission deadline for its 2026 ranking of the Top Firms by Assets Under Management (AUM). Originally set to close earlier, the deadline has been pushed to May 8, 2026, due to significant interest from
accounting firms. This annual ranking, known as the Wealth Magnets report, evaluates CPA firms involved in financial planning based on their AUM. To qualify, firms must have a financial planning practice or be closely associated with a CPA firm, and at least one financial planner must hold a CPA credential. The final list will be published in June on AccountingToday.com and in the print edition of Accounting Today.
Why It's Important?
The extension of the submission deadline highlights the growing interest and competition among CPA firms in the financial planning sector. This ranking provides valuable insights into the industry, showcasing firms that excel in managing significant assets. For participating firms, being listed can enhance their reputation and attract new clients, as it serves as a benchmark of excellence in financial planning. The report also offers a comprehensive overview of industry trends, helping stakeholders understand the competitive landscape and identify leading firms in the field.
What's Next?
Following the submission deadline, Accounting Today will compile and analyze the data to finalize the rankings. The results will be eagerly anticipated by industry professionals and clients alike, as they provide a snapshot of the top-performing firms in financial planning. Firms that make the list may leverage this recognition in their marketing and client acquisition strategies. Additionally, the publication of the rankings could influence industry standards and practices, as firms strive to meet the criteria for inclusion in future reports.
