The Howard Lady Bison basketball team triumphed over Norfolk State with a 53-46 victory to claim the 2026 MEAC Women’s Basketball Tournament Championship at Scope Arena in Norfolk, Virginia. Howard's coach, Ty Grace, acknowledged the competitive standard
set by Norfolk State, which pushed the team to prepare rigorously throughout the season. Senior forward Zennia Thomas led the scoring for Howard with 15 points and 8 rebounds. Nile Miller contributed a double-double with 12 points and 13 rebounds, while Ariella Henigan added 11 points and 4 rebounds. Despite being outscored in the paint, Howard capitalized on second-chance points and free throws to secure the win. The Lady Bison's victory completes a championship sweep for Howard's basketball programs, as the men's team also won their championship game against NCCU.
