What's Happening?
The Ouachita Parish Sheriff’s Office, in collaboration with North Delta Training Academy, is organizing a women's self-defense class scheduled for July 11, 2026. The class will be held at the North Delta Training Academy in West Monroe, Louisiana. It
aims to equip women with practical self-defense skills, boost their confidence, and increase their awareness in potentially dangerous situations. The class is hands-on and limited to 25 participants, requiring prior registration through the OPSO website.
Why It's Important?
This initiative is significant as it addresses the growing need for personal safety and empowerment among women. By providing practical self-defense training, the program aims to enhance the personal security of participants, potentially reducing the risk of violence against women. Such programs can also foster a sense of community and support among participants, encouraging more women to take proactive steps in safeguarding themselves. The limited class size ensures personalized attention, enhancing the effectiveness of the training.
