What's Happening?
Think Together, a nonprofit organization, has received a $125,000 grant from Boeing to enhance its STEM and Workforce Readiness and Employment Program (WREP) across 72 schools in Los Angeles and Orange counties. This funding aims to provide K-12 students
with access to high-quality STEM education and career readiness opportunities. The grant is part of Boeing's ongoing investment in Think Together, totaling over $700,000 in the past seven years. The program will offer hands-on STEM projects and career exploration in fields like aeronautical engineering and computer science. Additionally, high school students will have the chance to participate in work-based learning experiences, including micro-internships and tours of Boeing facilities.
Why It's Important?
This grant underscores the importance of STEM education in preparing students for future careers in technology and engineering. By investing in under-resourced communities, Boeing and Think Together are helping to bridge the educational gap and provide students with the skills needed for the modern workforce. The initiative supports economic growth by fostering a new generation of innovators and problem-solvers, which is crucial for maintaining the U.S.'s competitive edge in the global market. The program also aligns with broader efforts to enhance workforce readiness and address skill shortages in critical industries.
