Sports Group, which also holds stakes in the Columbus Crew, Cleveland Browns, and Milwaukee Bucks. Nationwide Insurance and Drs. Christine and Pete Edwards, who are part of the Columbus Crew ownership, are also involved. The new team is expected to begin play by the 2028 season and will share the ScottsMiracle-Gro Field with the Columbus Crew. The announcement was made at a press event attended by NWSL Commissioner Jessica Berman and Columbus Mayor Andrew Ginther.
