The 2026 Drama Desk Award nominations have been announced, with Beau the Musical and Mexodus leading the pack with ten nominations each. The nominations were revealed by Raúl Esparza and Helen J Shen on April 29. Both musicals are competing for the Outstanding
Musical category, alongside The Seat of Our Pants, Schmigadoon!, and Two Strangers (Carry a Cake Across New York). The awards ceremony, hosted by Titaníque star Marla Mindelle, is scheduled for May 17 at Town Hall. The nominations this year have shown a strong preference for Off-Broadway productions, with Ragtime and The Balusters also receiving significant recognition. Ragtime is nominated for Outstanding Revival of a Musical, competing against Amahl and the Night Visitors, Chess, The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, The Baker's Wife, and The Rocky Horror Show.
