What's Happening?
The Kraft Heinz Co. has introduced a new line of Jell-O snacks called Jell-O Simply, which is formulated without FD&C colors and artificial sweeteners. This new product line includes instant pudding mix, gelatin mix, and ready-to-eat gelatin, all made
with fruit juice and available in flavors such as orange, raspberry lemonade, and blueberry. The Jell-O Simply line boasts 25% less sugar compared to the original Jell-O formulation. Additionally, the gelatin and instant pudding mixes come in four varieties: vanilla, chocolate, banana, and strawberry, sweetened with sugar and stevia extract.
Why It's Important?
This reformulation by Kraft Heinz reflects a growing trend in the food industry towards cleaner labels and reduced sugar content, responding to consumer demand for healthier snack options. By eliminating artificial ingredients and reducing sugar, Kraft Heinz is positioning itself to capture a segment of health-conscious consumers. This move could potentially influence other companies in the snack sector to follow suit, leading to broader changes in product formulations across the industry. The introduction of Jell-O Simply may also help Kraft Heinz strengthen its market position by appealing to a wider audience seeking healthier alternatives.
