This season, he started with the New York Knicks on a Two-Way contract and later joined the Maine Celtics, Boston's G League affiliate, where he averaged 18.4 points, 6.2 rebounds, 4.2 assists, and 1.4 steals per game. Evbuomwan's collegiate career at Princeton was marked by significant achievements, including being named the Ivy League Player of the Year and leading his team to the Sweet
Sixteen in the 2023 NCAA Tournament.
Why It's Important?
The signing of Tosan Evbuomwan by the Charlotte Hornets is a strategic move to bolster their roster with a versatile player who has demonstrated potential in both the NBA and G League. His performance in the G League, particularly with the Maine Celtics, highlights his ability to contribute significantly in scoring, rebounding, and playmaking. This addition could provide the Hornets with more depth and flexibility, especially in managing player rotations and addressing any gaps in their lineup. For Evbuomwan, this contract represents an opportunity to further establish himself in the NBA and potentially secure a more permanent role with the team.
