Clara Adams, a junior from Long Beach Wilson, achieved a remarkable feat at the Southern Section Masters Meet held at Moorpark High. She not only won the 400-meter dash but also set a new section record with a time of 51.98 seconds, surpassing the previous
record set by Shae Anderson in 2017. Adams expressed her surprise and joy at achieving her goal before the state championships. Additionally, Adams, along with her teammates Brooke Blue, Brooklyn Fowler, and Saniah Varnado, broke the state record in the 4x400 relay with a time of 3:33.83, beating the previous record set by Long Beach Poly in 2004. The team is now setting their sights on the national record held by Florida Montverde Academy. The meet also saw other notable performances, including Braelyn Combe's victories in the 1,600 and 800 meters, and Calabasas' dominance in the 100-yard dash.
