Travere Therapeutics has received full approval from the FDA for its drug Filspari (sparsentan) to treat focal segmental glomerulosclerosis (FSGS), a rare kidney disease. This marks the first FDA-approved
treatment specifically for FSGS, which affects approximately 30,000 people in the U.S. Filspari, previously approved for IgA nephropathy, is now indicated for reducing proteinuria in patients aged eight and over with FSGS who do not have nephrotic syndrome.
