What's Happening?
Lassus Bros. Oil Inc. is planning to exit the Ohio market by selling its five convenience stores in the state. The company has retained NRC Realty and Capital Advisors LLC to manage the sale of these stores, which are located in Delta, Montpelier, Napoleon,
and two other locations. The stores are being sold without any specific convenience-store branding and can be purchased with or without fuel supply. Lassus Bros., which operates 16 stores in Fort Wayne, Indiana, and 14 others in the northeast corner of the state, will completely exit Ohio once these sales are finalized. The bid deadline for these properties is set for May 7.
Why It's Important?
The sale of Lassus Bros.' Ohio stores marks a significant shift in the company's operational focus, potentially impacting local economies and employment in the areas where these stores are located. For Lassus Bros., this move could allow the company to consolidate its resources and strengthen its presence in Indiana. For potential buyers, this sale represents an opportunity to enter or expand within the Ohio convenience store market. The decision to sell without branding or fuel supply offers flexibility to buyers, which could attract a diverse range of investors. This development also reflects broader trends in the convenience store industry, where companies are re-evaluating their geographic footprints to optimize operations.
