What's Happening?
Aurum Resources has successfully obtained three Étude d’Impact Environnemental et Social Approfondie (EIESA) certificates from the Ministry of Environment and Ecological Transition of Côte d'Ivoire for its Boundiali Gold Project. These approvals are crucial
for the company's mining license applications across the Boundiali South, Boundiali DS, and Boundiali Minex tenements, which collectively cover an area of 572.67 square kilometers. The Boundiali project is reported to have a mineral resource estimate of 3.22 million ounces of gold. The certification process, classified as Category A for large-scale projects, involved a comprehensive year-long assessment by the Ivorian environmental consultancy EnviTech, which included community engagement and a public inquiry. The process concluded with a workshop in Abidjan, attended by representatives from various ministries, local authorities, and Aurum's management team.
Why It's Important?
Securing these environmental certificates is a significant milestone for Aurum Resources, as it removes a major regulatory barrier, allowing the company to proceed with its mining operations in Côte d'Ivoire. This development is crucial for the company's strategic plan to transition from a mineral resource holder to a gold producer. The Boundiali project, with its substantial gold reserves, represents a significant economic opportunity for both Aurum and the local economy, potentially creating jobs and contributing to the region's economic development. The project's advancement also reflects the growing interest and investment in West Africa's mining sector, which is becoming increasingly attractive to international mining companies due to its rich mineral resources.
What's Next?
Aurum Resources is progressing with its pre-feasibility and definitive feasibility studies for the Boundiali project. The results of the pre-feasibility study are expected within the current quarter, while the definitive feasibility study is scheduled for completion in the fourth quarter of 2026. The company is actively conducting resource drilling with 16 diamond rigs to expand the resource base. With A$61 million in cash reserves, Aurum is well-positioned to advance the project towards production. The successful completion of these studies and subsequent project development could lead to increased gold production, further solidifying Aurum's position in the global mining industry.
