Recent research by AI security firms Irregular and Kaspersky has revealed that passwords generated by large language models (LLMs) are structurally predictable, posing significant security risks. These passwords, while appearing complex and meeting standard
security criteria, are often repeated across different sessions, making them vulnerable to exploitation. The study highlighted that in 50 attempts, only 30 unique passwords were generated, with one sequence recurring 18 times. This predictability undermines the security of systems relying on these passwords, as they can be easily anticipated by adversaries familiar with the distribution patterns of LLM-generated credentials.
