Red Mountain Mining has announced the identification of outcropping garnet skarn at its Greenstone and Mammoth prospects, which are part of the company's Pioneer Tungsten Project in Montana, USA. This discovery follows Red Mountain's decision to acquire
full ownership of the Pioneer Project. Fieldwork conducted by the company's US crew in late May confirmed visible exposures of garnet skarn, leading to the collection of 24 rock chip samples for multi-element analysis. The results of these tests are expected by the end of June. The Pioneer Tungsten Project comprises three claim areas: Greenstone, Mammoth, and Lost Creek, located along the eastern margin of the Mount Torrey Batholith. The region is known for its limestone-hosted garnet skarns containing tungsten mineralization, specifically scheelite. A recent magnetic modeling study by Arrow Geosciences suggests the presence of subsurface magnetic bodies beneath the Greenstone and Mammoth claims, indicating potential shallow extensions of the granodiorite source associated with the skarn mineralization.
