Buc-ee’s, a mega-convenience retailer, is set to break ground on its first North Carolina location in Mebane on June 10. The new travel center will occupy 74,000 square feet and offer 120 fueling positions. Buc-ee’s is known for its Texas barbeque, fudge,
kolaches, Beaver Nuggets, jerky, and fresh pastries, as well as clean restrooms. The Mebane location will create nearly 200 full-time jobs, offering competitive pay, full benefits, a 6% matching 401k, and three weeks of paid vacation. Buc-ee’s has been expanding since 2024, with new locations in Ohio, Arkansas, Arizona, Kansas, and Louisiana.
