Matt Herod has been appointed as the General Manager at the Grand Bohemian Lodge Asheville, part of the Autograph Collection. Herod brings nearly a decade of leadership experience in luxury hospitality operations, having previously served as Area Managing
Director for Highgate-managed adventure resorts in Alaska. His role involved overseeing multi-site hotel, marina, food and beverage, and excursion operations. Herod's career includes senior leadership roles at large-scale destination resorts, where he managed portfolios of up to 280 rooms and multi-million-dollar operating budgets. He holds an Associate of Arts in Business and has been an active industry leader, serving as Chair for Southeast Alaska with the Alaska Hotel & Lodging Association.
