St. John Bosco High School is set to host an eight-team seven-on-seven passing tournament on Saturday, marking the beginning of the third year for quarterback Koa Malau'ulu as he leads the school's offense. This event is one of three significant passing tournaments
occurring this weekend, with Dana Hills and Long Beach Millikan also hosting their own competitions. The tournament at St. John Bosco, known as the 2026 Brave 8 Invitational Passing Tournament, will feature top programs from Southern California. Notably, Koa Malau'ulu will be playing without his former All-American receiver Madden Williams, who has moved on to Texas A&M. However, class of 2028 receiver DJ Tubbs is expected to step up as a leading player. Additionally, Corona Centennial will participate, showcasing Cathedral transfer Jaden Jefferson at quarterback. Dana Hills will host a 16-team tournament, including schools like Oxnard Pacifica, Laguna Beach, and Crean Lutheran, all of which have returning standout quarterbacks. The games at Dana Hills will start with pool-play at 8 a.m., while Long Beach Millikan's games will begin at 9 a.m.
