What's Happening?
Hollywood Casino Columbus is set to expand with a new 203-room hotel tower, scheduled to open on June 12, 2026, pending regulatory approvals. The expansion will include 183 standard rooms and 20 luxury suites, along with amenities such as The Hill Eatery
& Lounge, conference rooms, a fitness center, and an outdoor seating terrace. Room bookings will be available starting April 15, and the project is expected to create approximately 100 new jobs. Job fairs for hotel staff positions are planned for March 27 and April 10.
Why It's Important?
The expansion of Hollywood Casino Columbus represents a significant investment in the local economy, promising job creation and increased tourism. The new hotel tower will enhance the casino's offerings, potentially attracting more visitors and boosting local businesses. The development aligns with Penn Entertainment's growth strategy, following previous expansions in Joliet and Las Vegas. This project could serve as a catalyst for further economic development in Columbus, particularly on the city's west side.
What's Next?
Following the opening of the new hotel tower, Hollywood Casino Columbus will likely focus on integrating the new facilities into its existing operations. The success of this expansion could influence future development plans by Penn Entertainment, including upcoming projects in Illinois and Iowa. Local businesses and stakeholders may respond positively to the increased economic activity, potentially leading to further investments in the area.
