What's Happening?
InCoax Networks AB has launched the D2508 ER, a new MoCA AccessTM 2.5 DPU designed to extend fiber-based broadband over existing coaxial networks in mid- to large-sized multi-dwelling units (MDUs). This platform is tailored for high-density deployments,
offering symmetrical broadband services up to 2.5 Gbps per coax port with low latency. The D2508 ER features eight coax ports, supporting up to 31 network termination devices per port, and is engineered for point-to-multipoint coaxial networks. By utilizing existing coax infrastructure, the platform reduces the need for new wiring, enabling faster deployment and lower capital expenditure.
Why It's Important?
The introduction of the D2508 ER platform is significant as it addresses the growing demand for high-speed internet in densely populated residential areas without the need for extensive infrastructure upgrades. By leveraging existing coaxial networks, InCoax offers a cost-effective solution for broadband providers to enhance service delivery, potentially increasing internet accessibility and quality for residents. This development could lead to increased competition among service providers, driving further innovation and improvements in broadband services.
