Millicom International Cellular has entered into a long-term commercial agreement with Trans Americas Fibre System (TAFS) to enhance its network infrastructure across Central America. The partnership will utilize TAFS' open-access, carrier-neutral platform
to expand Millicom's international capacity. The TAM-1 system, a next-generation subsea fibre optic network, spans approximately 7,000 kilometers, connecting the United States, Eastern Caribbean, Central America, and Colombia. This infrastructure will provide Millicom with increased route diversity, enhanced redundancy, improved network resilience, and greater scalability, meeting the region's growing demand for reliable digital services.
