What's Happening?
Whale Head Minerals (WHM), a subsidiary of Kazera Global, has entered into a 50:50 production sharing agreement with Rare Earth Minerals International (REMI) for the Walviskop heavy mineral sands project in South Africa's Northern Cape province. The agreement,
effective from June 1, aims to enhance operational capabilities, accelerate production growth, and reduce the working capital burden for WHM. REMI will deploy significant processing infrastructure at Walviskop, valued at over £1 million, without requiring upfront capital from Kazera. Additionally, REMI will contribute R600,000 monthly towards project costs, supporting accelerated production growth. The partnership targets improvements in the HMS concentrate grade and aims to ramp up production to 10,000 tons per month by the third quarter, with a long-term goal of 20,000 tons per month.

What's Next?
The focus will now shift towards the anticipated award of the 2A mining right, which is expected to further advance the project. Kazera is also completing a competent persons' report for the 2A area, which will provide insights into the project's scale and potential. The findings of this report are expected to be shared in late June. As the partnership progresses, both WHM and REMI will work towards realizing the full potential of the Walviskop project, with REMI's operational expertise complementing WHM's existing capabilities.
