What's Happening?
Aviation Graphix has successfully completed a vinyl livery project for Transavia, a French airline, by installing a promotional 'Cheerz' livery on a B737-800 aircraft. The project involved applying high-grade aviation-approved vinyl featuring holiday-themed images on the aircraft's tail. This installation, which took place at Shannon Airport in Ireland, was completed over three days and included necessary adjustments such as weighing and rudder balancing. The livery, sponsored by the mobile app 'Cheerz', allows users to print photos directly from their phone libraries. The promotional design is set to remain until the end of October, after which the aircraft will revert to its original appearance.
Why It's Important?
This project highlights the growing trend of
using vinyl livery for promotional purposes in the aviation industry. Vinyl applications offer a cost-effective alternative to traditional paint jobs, reducing downtime and expenses associated with painting and repainting aircraft. This method is particularly advantageous for short to medium-term promotional campaigns, allowing airlines to quickly adapt to marketing needs without long-term commitments. The use of mobile app sponsorships also reflects the increasing integration of digital platforms in marketing strategies, potentially opening new revenue streams for airlines and associated businesses.
