Solace Power Inc. and NetComm Wireless have announced a strategic partnership to develop and commercialize the world's first wirelessly powered, window-mounted 5G customer premises equipment (CPE). This innovative solution aims to bridge the gap between performance and simplicity in Fixed Wireless Access (FWA) deployments. Traditionally, outdoor CPEs offer superior signal quality but require complex installations involving drilling and cabling, while indoor units are easier to install but suffer from performance issues due to modern building materials. The new device integrates Solace's Wireless Power Through-Glass module with NetComm's AurusLINK CPE platform, allowing it to mount directly to a window and draw power wirelessly, eliminating the need
for physical cables. This development is expected to simplify outdoor 5G deployments, offering the ease of indoor installation with the performance benefits of outdoor equipment.
