What's Happening?
Peregrine Hospitality has acquired The Lodge at Tiburon and Toll House Hotel, expanding its portfolio in Northern California's leisure markets. The Lodge at Tiburon, located on three acres overlooking the San Francisco Bay, offers 104 guest rooms and extensive
meeting space. It is near popular attractions like Angel Island State Park and Muir Woods National Monument. The Toll House Hotel in Los Gatos features 115 rooms and was renovated in 2021 with a Craftsman-inspired design. It is situated near the Santa Cruz Mountains and local cultural sites. This acquisition enhances Peregrine's presence in drive-to-leisure destinations.
Why It's Important?
The acquisition of these properties by Peregrine Hospitality underscores the growing interest in drive-to-leisure markets, which have gained popularity as travelers seek accessible and scenic destinations. By expanding its portfolio in Northern California, Peregrine is strategically positioning itself to capitalize on the region's tourism appeal, which includes proximity to natural attractions and cultural sites. This move could lead to increased revenue and market share for Peregrine, as well as enhanced guest experiences through the unique offerings of each property. The focus on leisure markets also reflects broader trends in the hospitality industry, where flexibility and location are key factors in attracting guests.
