Meta has introduced Meta Compute, a new initiative aimed at expanding its artificial intelligence (AI) computing infrastructure. This program, reporting directly to CEO Mark Zuckerberg, seeks to unify
decisions regarding power, land, equipment, and networking. Meta plans to add 'tens of gigawatts' of capacity, scaling to 'hundreds of gigawatts' over time, positioning its AI workloads on a scale comparable to small cities or countries. The initiative is co-led by Santosh Janardhan and Daniel Gross, focusing on system architecture and strategic capacity planning, respectively.
