Matt Herod has been appointed as the new General Manager of the Grand Bohemian Lodge Asheville, a significant leadership change for the hotel. Herod comes with nearly a decade of leadership experience from Highgate, where he most recently served as Area
Managing Director for Salmon Falls Resort and The Ketch Inn in Ketchikan, Alaska. In his previous roles, Herod managed hotel, marina, food and beverage, and excursion operations across multiple sites. He has also supported various task force and interim General Manager assignments across Highgate’s portfolio, including properties like Kimpton Hotel Monaco Denver and Beaver Creek Lodge. Earlier in his career, Herod held senior leadership roles at Talkeetna Alaskan Lodge and Grande Denali Lodge, managing large portfolios and multi-million-dollar budgets. He holds an Associate of Arts in Business from Glendale Community College and has served as Chair for Southeast Alaska with the Alaska Hotel & Lodging Association.
