Denza, a premium new energy vehicle brand under BYD, has officially launched its operations in the Philippines with the introduction of the Denza D9 DM-i, a plug-in hybrid executive MPV. The launch event took place in Manila, marking Denza's entry into
the Philippine market as part of its broader strategy to expand across Southeast Asia. The D9 DM-i features a 1.5-liter turbocharged gasoline engine paired with dual electric motors, offering a combined 401 horsepower and a total driving range of 980 kilometers. The vehicle is equipped with luxury features such as Nappa leather upholstery, zero-gravity seats, and advanced infotainment systems. Denza's entry into the Philippines is part of a global expansion strategy that includes markets in Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia, and Indonesia, as well as plans to enter Oceania and Europe.
Why It's Important?
The launch of Denza in the Philippines signifies a growing demand for luxury new energy vehicles in the region. As consumers in the Philippines become more sophisticated, the introduction of high-end electric vehicles like the Denza D9 DM-i reflects a shift towards sustainable and technologically advanced transportation options. This move is likely to influence the local automotive market, encouraging other manufacturers to introduce similar offerings. Additionally, Denza's expansion into the Philippines and other Southeast Asian markets highlights the region's potential as a significant player in the global new energy vehicle industry. The presence of luxury brands like Denza could drive further investment and innovation in the sector, benefiting consumers and the environment.
What's Next?
Denza plans to establish a strong presence in the Philippines through a network of four dealerships located in Makati, Alabang, Greenhills, and Cebu. The company also intends to introduce additional models, such as the Denza Z9 GT, B5, and B8, to the local market later this year. As Denza continues its global expansion, it aims to position itself against established luxury automotive brands by leveraging BYD's advanced technology and platforms. The brand's strategy includes expanding its dealership network in Australia and entering the European market with models like the Z9 GT shooting brake. These efforts are expected to solidify Denza's position as a leading luxury new energy vehicle brand worldwide.
