What's Happening?
The Society for Laboratory Automation and Screening (SLAS) has named PulpFixin as the official Sustainability Sponsor for its Europe 2026 Conference in Vienna and a key supporter at SLAS2026 in Boston.
This partnership aims to advance sustainable materials and practices in life science laboratories. PulpFixin will support sustainability initiatives at these conferences, including sponsoring water bottle filling stations to reduce single-use plastic. The collaboration also involves the creation of a Sustainability in Science Topical Interest Group to guide laboratory professionals in adopting sustainable operations.
Why It's Important?
This partnership underscores the growing importance of sustainability in scientific research and laboratory operations. By integrating sustainable practices into major conferences, SLAS and PulpFixin are promoting environmental responsibility within the scientific community. This initiative could lead to broader adoption of sustainable materials and practices in laboratories, potentially reducing environmental impact and aligning with global sustainability goals. The focus on education and practical solutions highlights the need for laboratories to address sustainability as a core operational concern, which could influence industry standards and regulatory compliance.
