What's Happening?
Resolution Minerals Ltd has successfully produced high-grade tungsten concentrates from historical stockpiles at its Horse Heaven Antimony-Tungsten-Gold Project in Idaho, USA. The preliminary gravity separation test work on stockpiled ore from the Golden
Gate Tungsten mine resulted in a 19-times upgrade from the original stockpile grade, achieving concentrate grades of up to 52.3% WO3. This demonstrates the material's amenability to simple, low-cost processing methods. The company is conducting further metallurgical test work to refine concentrate quality and is in discussions with smelters and refiners for downstream processing and offtake pathways.
Why It's Important?
The successful production of high-grade tungsten concentrates represents a significant step for Resolution Minerals in monetizing historical stockpiles. Tungsten is a critical mineral used in various industrial applications, including electronics and defense. The ability to process these stockpiles using simple methods could provide a cost-effective supply of tungsten, supporting domestic industries and reducing reliance on imports. This initiative aligns with broader efforts to secure critical mineral supplies for the U.S. economy, particularly in the defense sector.
What's Next?
Resolution Minerals plans to continue its metallurgical test work and advance discussions with potential partners for processing and offtake agreements. The company is also preparing for a Phase 2 drilling program at the Horse Heaven Project, targeting gold and tungsten mineralization. This program aims to support a maiden Mineral Resource Estimate, further defining the project's potential. The successful development of this project could enhance Resolution Minerals' position in the critical minerals market and contribute to the U.S. supply chain.
