A recent study by GOBankingRates has identified Corpus Christi, Texas, as the most affordable beach town in the United States for retirees. The study analyzed various factors such as the percentage of the population aged 65 and over, median household
income, and monthly cost of living, which includes average mortgage and expenditure costs. The findings revealed that the monthly cost of living in Corpus Christi is approximately $3,015, making it the most economical option among U.S. beach towns. Other cities that made the top five list include Duluth, Minnesota; Salisbury, Maryland; Atlantic City, New Jersey; and Columbus, Ohio. Notably, Florida, often associated with retirement, did not feature in the top five, although it had 24 cities in the top 50, with Pensacola ranking sixth.
