Universal Pictures has acquired the domestic theatrical rights to 'Six The Musical Live!', a recorded version of the popular stage show. The film, directed by Liz Clare, will be released in U.S. cinemas on August 14 through Focus Features. 'Six The Musical',
written by Toby Marlow and Lucy Moss, reimagines the wives of Henry VIII as pop icons, featuring characters such as Catherine of Aragon and Anne Boleyn. The stage production has been a global success, staged in over 16 countries and winning two Tony awards. The film was recorded at London's Vaudeville Theatre and produced by Kenny Wax and others.
