Saltz consolidates disparate catalogs, transactions, and logistics into a single marketplace, enabling restaurants to compare and purchase fresh and specialty products more quickly. Pfeufer, who opened Matthias in 2024, has found that using Saltz reduces the need for lengthy phone calls and provides better oversight on pricing and supply chains. The platform's real-time data and ability to order outside of traditional business hours have been particularly beneficial for independent restaurants like Matthias, which was awarded its first Michelin star in 2025.
