What's Happening?
Lachlan Star has commenced its initial drilling program at the New Waverley Gold Project located in the Norseman region of Western Australia. The project focuses on diamond drilling at historical sites, including the Waverley and Trial Pits. The company
has identified high-grade gold-bearing quartz reef mineralization, which remains open in several directions. Historical drill intercepts targeted for follow-up include significant gold concentrations, such as 4.1 meters at 12.53 grams per tonne (g/t) gold and 0.65 meters at 77.3 g/t gold. The current diamond drilling campaign is expected to conclude in about three weeks, after which a 2,000-meter reverse circulation drilling phase will begin. This phase will target a mineralized corridor of approximately 400 meters between the Waverley and Trial Pits and the Baker Boys Prospect.
Why It's Important?
The commencement of drilling at the New Waverley Gold Project marks a significant milestone for Lachlan Star as it seeks to explore and potentially expand its gold resources in a historically rich mining region. The identification of high-grade mineralization and the strategic follow-up on historical drill intercepts could lead to substantial economic benefits for the company and its stakeholders. Successful drilling results could enhance the project's value, attract further investment, and contribute to the local economy through job creation and increased mining activity. The project also underscores the ongoing interest and investment in gold exploration in Australia, a key player in the global gold market.
What's Next?
Following the completion of the diamond drilling program, Lachlan Star plans to proceed with a reverse circulation drilling phase to further explore the mineralized corridor. The company aims to confirm the grade and continuity of mineralization and evaluate the project's broader potential. Results from these drilling activities will be crucial in determining the next steps for development and potential expansion. Lachlan Star's management has expressed confidence in the project's potential and plans to update shareholders as results are received in the coming weeks.
